(General) Syllabus – This is a survey course that begins with the era of colonization and concludes with present-day America. Each semester is broken down into units and an examination is given at the conclusion of each. There is a general test of historical knowledge at the end of every quarter. The quarter grade is the accumulation of total points.
Unit 1 = The American Rebellion
Unit 2 = Constitutional Era
Unit 3 = 19th Century America: Expansion & Civil War
Unit 4 = Reconstruction, Immigration, Westward Expansion
Unit 5 = Urbanization, Politics and Reform
Unit 6 = World War I (and growing world involvement)
Unit 7 = The Great Depression
Unit 8 = World War II
Unit 10 = Cold War to 2012 (and beyond)
